Off and on I used to hear the call
たまに呼ぶ声が聞こえたんだ
から"off and on"を取り上げます！
"off and on"は「時々、（物事が）行われたり止まったり」の意味で使われる表現です。ちなみに"on and off"でも同様の意味になります。
この表現でやはり耳にすることが多いのは"rain"かもしれませんね！
